Grand Pacific Drive
Wollongong is located on a 140-kilometer coastal road that begins in Sydney’s CBD and ends in the lovely Shoalhaven region.
The road winds through the Royal National Park (the world’s second-oldest), past cliffs, dramatic beaches, stretches of coastal rainforest, and up to innumerable viewpoints where you may get out of the car and take in the sight.
The Sea Cliff Bridge (2005), about half a kilometre long and twisting with the contours of the sandstone cliff-face, is one length that will take your breath away.
On the parallel roads, you can stroll or bike, and there are lookouts on the cliffs to view this created masterpiece and its Pacific background from above.
